Earn free books by regularly attending this chapter book story time geared for children grades 3-6. Kids add a sticker to their attendance sheet at the end of each session. When they reach 5 stickers, they pick a book from our prize basket.

Don't worry if you miss a few weeks or start in the middle! Each week we quickly retell the story. We celebrate the end of each book with snacks (vegan, allergen-free) or a hands-on activity or craft. It generally takes us a month or two for each book. Registration is not required; just drop in!

Current book: My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George

What's it about? Have you ever dreamed of running away to live in the wilderness all by yourself? That's exactly what 12-year-old Sam Gribley does! Sam leaves his crowded New York City apartment and heads to the wild Catskill Mountains, where he builds a cozy home inside a hollowed-out tree. He learns to find his own food, make fire, and survive through freezing winters — all on his own. Along the way, he befriends a wild falcon named Frightful and discovers that nature is full of surprises. This thrilling adventure will make you wonder: could YOU survive in the wild?

2026 Books:
